Students from NTU's GEM Trailblazer Summer 2024 programme visited LAB offices at One Marina Boulevard on 11 July 2024 as part of a learning journey to understand Singapore's unique tripartism model. The group of 24 students were enrolled in Professor Chew Soon Beng's—one of LAB's members—HE3023 Labour Economics summer course and came from all over the world including Venezuela, China, and the United Kingdom. The students, many of whom were first-time visitors to Singapore, had the opportunity to learn more about how tripartism works, the history of union activity in Singapore, and NTUC's contributions to labour research from Assistant Secretary-General Patrick Tay and the NTUC Strategy department. Students also participated in an interactive quiz and sampled cakes from well-known local brand and unionised company Polar Puffs & Cakes!
